Jan 14, 2018 - What went well today?

Yey!!! It's Pongal Thirunal today..

  1. What am I happy about today? Everything... starting first from the single morsel of grain that is created just for me. Like some ancient poet had once written, I strongly believe that ever grain of food that exists in the world had its consumer's name written on it - " Dane  Dane Pe Likha Hai Khanewale Ka Naam". I am thankful to the nature and all the farmers/ producers around the world who work hard to place palatable food on my plate. The price we pay for it is to repay for their hard work.
  2. MIL prepared yumm lunch today... bringing back memories from parents' place which I had taken for granted. Lunch today had sweet pongal, okra sambhar, avare kaalu sundal, rasam, vadai and fried goodies.
  3. Spent time today with the little ones playing their silly games :) was fun never the less.
  4. Made a fool of myself asking for favors from him... favor asked was taken care... but I know it was not a thing he wanted to do. Thanks for being a human being... much appreciated. Thank you.

Jan 13, 2018 - What went well today?

Saturday.. Boghi Festival

  1. A lazy morning... a good way to start the weekend.
  2. Had fun time with the kids... watched some TV.
  3. On son's non-stop insistence, went out for dinner as a 'family'. The way the little ones enjoyed their evening out with the parents at their favorite restaurant having their favorite dish... can compromise anything to see their faces light up.

Jan 12, 2018 - What went well today?

From what little I remember of the day -

  1. Watched FB - live of the Pongal celebration happening in son's school and thrilled me to watch his happy face when his teacher and principal prepared sweet pongal and explained the significance of celebrating this harvest festival. Pongal is my favorite festival ever because it gives us an opportunity to thank nature and our farmers for the food we survive on, which we take for granted every other day.
  2. Went shopping for necessary clothing and got 2 palazzo and am happy I was able to get the ones that I liked.
  3. Visited the doc with the routine tests, declared Vit. D3 deficient  and needed medication to supplement. Had to wait 1.5hrs to meet the doc due to the blunder of the doc's staff... was really pissed off and had to voice my dissatisfaction. Good side of this delay - I got to read a book on Kindle for the entire time without being disturbed.
  4. Friday... he is supposed to come back home after a long get-away... for work. Its freaking me out... but I'm being positive. I am alright... thats a good thing. He has come back for a brief stay (not sure how long)... exchanged pleasantries... went off the bed. So far so good :)

Jan 11, 2018 - What went well today?

Updating on 15th Jan... so don't remember much.

  1. While trying to park my 2-wheeler at the metro station, the attender came running to assist with my parking. He was like, "madam, I know your foot is hurt. Get down, I'll park it for you. Just call me when you come back in the evening, will get the vehicle for you". Even if you get none from people who know you for years, this act of kindness from a stranger made my day. It was world's way to prove once again that one should not become a bitter person because of someone's attitude towards you.  Kindness makes the world a better place to live it.
  2. Finally got a cute little lunch bag for myself... it reads "I am concerned" - yep! that's me. When I decide to have someone in my life, I am always concerned respectively.
  3. Morning spared some time of my busy rush schedule to drop a cheque for him. Did it for my own peace and felt peaceful doing it too. I am getting stronger.

Jan 10, 2018 - What went well today?

I am 39 today.... yeah, yeah... I know I don't look it. Thank you 😁

  1. The day started at 12 midnight when SIL and bro called to wish me. She is a darling and we are blessed to have her in our family... she is family. I admire her patience and perseverance. Wish I could learn something from her.
  2. MIL wished and blessed me with all her heart.. with almost tears in her eyes.
  3. The kids and their dad wished too.
  4. I loved the dress that parents gifted for my birthday... especially the dhupatta.. felt happy the whole day just by wearing it.
  5. The girls from work and I had already planned for a dinner night and was eager to meet putside of office space and have good food. It pays to have friends who love to eat just like me.
  6. Even when I was waiting for the evening, they got this beautiful, yummm Red Velvet Cheese Cake from 'The Ganache Factory'
  7. Later we all met up at Bombay Brasserie for dinner, it goes without saying everything was perfect -  the people, the place, the ambience, the food, the evening, the trip back home...
  8. Honestly, today has been the best birthday I've had in years. I'm genuinely indebted to all the things/ people that conspired to make this day wonderful. I feel reborn... I know I am a fighter AND a survivor. Nothing and nobody can kill my spirit. I am me... I am THE kovaipuyal always :)

Jan 9, 2018 - What went well today?

  1. In spite of being under homeo medication for the past couple of days, the pain seems to have decided to make my knee its home for many days to come. I was hoping that wearing knee caps would help me with my routine, but the pharmacy close to home does not open until 10am. But today, they had opened up by the time I left for work and I was extremely grateful. Those tube fits really made my life easy today.
  2. My best girls from work and I have made plans to go out for dinner tomorrow. Lifted my mood to a good extent. Thanks girls... how would I have survived the past half year without you all. What goes around comes around and I pray with all my heart that whatever good you have done to me will come back to you all many folds. God Bless!!!
  3. I go home to hear the horrid news that daughter dearest locked herself accidentally in the toy room, with no light on around 6:30pm and didn't know how to open the door's latch to come out. Our closest friends from the apartment and the security person have come to the rescue of my MIL to get DD out of the room by banging on the door like in the movies and breaking the latch out of the door frame. I can only imagine the mental agony that that MIL would have been in until DD was out safe. I am blessed to have her with us who takes genuine, immense care of the kids all the time.
  4. The hotwheels car kit that I had ordered for son boy had come today and the happiness on his face while playing with it... no words to describe.. :)

Jan 8, 2018 - What went well today?

  1. While in the metro today, as usual I was reading on my kindle and a gentleman picked up a conversation asking me about the kindle, different books, tipped me to try reading the 18 Maha Puranas that he himself is reading. When it was time to part ways, he introduced himself as Chakravarthy. Reading on kindle while on public transports does make people open up to me about themselves, their genre of interest, enquires on the books I am currently reading, etc. What a way to start the week/ day 😂
  2. This killing pain below my left knee drove me to the hospital after more than a week of suffering. The ortho explained stuff which wasn't very convincing... however, the x-rays revealed nothing. So the good thing is the bones on the left leg are fine. Need to get the lab tests done this week before I meet him again on Friday.
